We have to fight for Democracy

A step too far Borris

Ideology is dangerous. Ideology, by its nature, is dogmatic and leaves no room for opinions. It stifles discussion and debate because of its doctrinal nature; it is the way of a closed mind. Fascism and communism are both examples of doctrines. Stalin, Hitler, Pol-Pot are all examples of dictators who followed their doctrines.

As history bears witness, hard doctrines tend to have catastrophic outcomes. Borris Johnson, with the aid of people like Dominic Cummings, are doing their best to instil fear in conservative MP's.  By threatening them with expulsion from the Tory party if they try and argue or stall a "Hard Brexit" outcome, Johnson is behaving just like a dictator.  It is the thin end of the wedge.

As the country considered to be the "Mother of Parliamentary Democracy," this behaviour is so un-British. Attempting to gag conservative MP's who hold a different opinion is counter-intuitive to democracy. It makes a mockery of what Parliament is all about, and this kind of threat from Number Ten must be stopped in its tracks.

Our Prime Minister is treading on dangerous ground. Let us all hope that the Members of Parliament whom we elected possess the where-with-all to obstruct this un-prime ministerial behaviour.
